St. Andrew's Court
Since its opening in 1998, St. Andrew’s Court has provided a setting in which men who have successfully completed the St. Leonard’s House program can find continued support in their journeys toward independent, whole lives. This is accomplished through the provision of safe, affordable, appealing housing accompanied by a comprehensive program of supportive services which are developed and conducted in conjunction with those provided through St. Leonard’s House. Depending upon individual needs, housing is typically sufficient to achieve goals and move toward self-sufficiency.

The Supportive Services Program provides an array of resources and programs designed to ensure the success of residents in an independent living setting.

- Service work and volunteer opportunities
- Assistance with life skills, budgeting and finances
A joint venture on the part of Lakefront SRO, the Chicago Department of Housing and the Illinois Housing Development Authority, St. Andrew’s Court offers 42 single-room-occupancy apartments. Each unit is completely furnished. A community room is available for meetings, activities, watching television and entertaining guests. A laundry room is on the first floor and a small weight room is in the basement. Outdoor yard space is available for summer recreational activities.

Program Services and Case Management services are provided by staff members who are professionally and personally equipped to serve residents. Staff members receive ongoing professional development training. Each resident of St. Andrew’s Court works with the Director of Supportive Services, who provides case management and facilitates the resident’s access to programs and services. Desk clerks supervise the living environment around the clock.

Local area clinics, businesses, and individuals provide volunteers who share their expertise with the residents of St. Andrew’s Court. Volunteers provide free medical testing, tutoring, and workshops in financial education.
